摘要

As part of an extensive survey of cliff-dwelling succulent and bulbous species, the dry river valleys of KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape were investigated and five species of Drimia (Hyacinthaceae) were found on sheer cliff faces. Two of these, D. cremnophila and D. mzimvubuensis, were recently described (Van Jaarsveld & Van Wyk 2006), while D. flagellaris growing on quartzitic sandstone cliffs of river valleys in the vicinity of Durban, was named by Edwards et al. (2005). The latter species was alsofound by Dirk Bellstedt, Ben Dekker and the first author further south at the southern margin of the Msikaba Formation Sandstone in Eraser's Gorge (Eastern Cape) on 6 April 2000.
