Full-scale testing of periclase carbonic refractories based on electromagnesia with addition of passivated Al to the charge is performed in the top cone of 370-ton converter of Magnitogorsk metallurgical works. Lining performance (1501) appearedsubstantially higher (1185 - 1416) compared to that observed for standard periclase refractories (PUPK-6 and PUPK-7) thus making promising the use of periclase refractories with aluminum antioxidant for vessel lining.
