Harvester maker aims to diversify

COINCIDENCE can be a good friend for a columnist, and an odd one happened to me recently. I was waiting for my daughter to join me for dinner one evening (I was picking her up at a light rail station in Minneapolis) when I heard a large airplane overhead. I was next to the airport and in the final approach track for a runway. The plane sounded exceptionally large, so I looked up. Overhead passed the hulking, double-decker Airbus A380, now the largest commercial airliner in service. The first plane was delivered in October. As an airplane buff, I have wanted to see one for a while, and there it was: a hulking monster that appeared to be barely staying airborne, yet it landed just fine.
