World's largest tandem two-pole 60Hz 1,000MW turbine generator

Toshiba is now manufacturing the first 60Hz 1,000MW turbine generator for Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. To verify the development and design, we manufactured a short-length. full-scale generator rotor necessary for use with a generator. Thetechnologies for materials and rotor production, including machining and assembly, were verified. In addition, excitation and rotation tests that included repeated starts and stops were conducted to verity the design technologies for a 1,000MW-classgenerator.
