摘要

A balanced-typed circular disk resonator using the TM{sub}010 mode is known as accurate method for measuring the complex permittivity of dielectric plate materials at microwave frequencies. In this paper, the rigorous analysis by Ritz-Galerkin method for a new structure of a balanced-type' circular disk resonator excited by coaxial cable lines is discussed. A proposed resonator is applicable even to the measurement of thin dielectric plate materials. The availability of this analysis method is verified by comparing with the experimental and the theoretical values. The relative permittivity ε{sub}r, and the loss tangent tan δ of dielectric plate samples are obtained accurately by using these calculations and the measured values of the resonant frequency and the unloaded Q of the TM{sub}010 mode.
