Compact high intensity light source system for LCD projectors

摘要

Light source system for LCD projectors is composed of the lamp and the reflector and has to satisfy the compactness and the high output intensity. Though smaller reflector is useful for downsizing the light source system, it reduces the effective reflection plane and induces the decrease of illuminance on the screen. We studied on the development of the short-arc high pressure mercury lamp, reduction of focal length of the reflector, precision of reflector contour and the condition for aligning a lamp with a reflector. The new light source system has about three quarters reflection face and actualizes 1.13 times as bright screen as the conventional type.
