In recent years, discontinuous current mode control scheme for AC/DC converter with active power filtering and power factor correction scheme has got widespread use for single phase utility-grid input power conversion supplies, because this control implementation has practical advantages of simple control system configuration and cost-effectiveness. But this PFC conversion circuit topology and its related control scheme has not been for three-phase utility-grid input power conversion supplies because the three-phase PFC converter with conventional control scheme for three phase AC mains have significant disadvantages from a practical point of view. In order to improve the main disadvantages, a new PFC converter circuit configuration with discontinuous current mode control scheme suitable for three phase AC mains is originally proposed by the authors. This paper presents an operating principle and unique features of the proposed three phase active four transistors type PFC converter topology and its analytical results related control strategy on the basis of experimental and simulation results. In addition evaluated and discussed the harmonic spectrum of the utility-grid side current in the proposed three-phase active PFC converter is to these as compared with the conventional ones.
