Lightning protection of wind-turbine by electronic controlled lightning conductors

For the lightning protection of two wind-turbines, an independent protection tower was constructed and an electronic controlled lightning conductor was installed on the tower. Lightning observation by automatic camera has been carried during past 4.5 years. Finally, we have confirmed, French theory on E.S.E air terminals is also applicable for upward lightning discharges by practical field tests. Some constructional improvements of the air terminals for better durability of the air terminals for such application will be realized.
