In EDD connection admission control scheme, a connection is established if its requesting end-to-end delay is larger than or equal to the worst-case end-to-end delay, and the difference between the two delays called a delay margin is partitioned and assigned to the links along the connection. In this paper, we propose a new assignment method which assigns the margin to links in proportion to worst-case link delays. Simulation results show that the number of established connections by the proposed method is roughly equal to that by conventional one under a uniform traffic pattern, and is roughly equal to or up to 1.4 times as large as that by conventional one under nonuniform traffic patterns. The amount of time required for admission control procedure is roughly equal.
