New Demio is equipped with a new chassis which has been developed focusing on, especially, precise and stable handling performance in order to realize "Highly Responsive Handling and Performance", which is one of Mazda DNA. A Macpherson strut type has been adopted for front suspension, and a torsion beam axle type has been followed for rear suspension. A front cross member, an A-type lower control arm, and a largesized rear torsion beam have realized optimization of geometry and improvement of rigidity.
