New Demio is equipped with a new chassis which has been developed focusing on, especially, precise and stable handling performance in order to realize "Highly Responsive Handling and Performance", which is one of Mazda DNA. A Macpherson strut type has been adopted for front suspension, and a torsion beam axle type has been followed for rear suspension. A front cross member, an A-type lower control arm, and a largesized rear torsion beam have realized optimization of geometry and improvement of rigidity. A brake has been developed, aimed at "a brake which responses to pedal operation as expected and quickly" in order to realize a highly responsive brake, which is Mazda Brake DNA, The brake and a master cylinder have been upsized to improve rigidity, linearity, and controllability.
