Raman spectroscopy is today a versatile analytical tool for pharmaceutical analysis. With the development of transmission Raman spectroscopy that offers better sampling for solids than conventional backscatter Raman, the technique is on the edge of a breakthrough to become a more widespread and used analytical tool. In particular, for quantitative analysis of solids it is equally applicable in early development through to manufacturing quality control in the pharmaceutical industry.
