Government Versus Private Paint Recycling Programs

To solve this problem, many government-backed and privately funded paint recycling programs have emerged in recent years. While all states have programs that take recycled paint from residents, they don't always accept paint from small businesses, and they don't always make recycling paint easy. To help, some states are enacting legislation to provide convenient places for painters to drop off unwanted paint to be recycled. PaintCare is a nonprofit set up by the American Coatings Association, which lobbies to enact legislation that includes the cost of recycling paint in the cost of new paint.
