Spectroscopic (~1H NMR and UV) and chromatographic (TLC) methods were proposed for the identification and determination of the purity of biologically active iodine-containing organic compounds. A sensitive extraction-photometric method was developed for the quantitative determination of preparations by the formation of ion associates of the triiodide ion with the cation of 1.3-dimethyl-2-(4-piperidynophenyl)azobenzimidazoliumphenylsulphate dye [#epsilon#_(580) = (3.2-3.4) X 10~4. m_(min) = 0 8-1.6 #mu#g). The method is characterized by high precision (RSD <= 0.6%).
