The composition of lipids and acids of four dominating species of plants and algae of the river Shulgan was studied including Alliaria petiolata, Rhynchostegium riparioides, Sphaeroplea annulina, and Rhizoclonium hieroglyphicum. The composition of neutral lipids and glyco-and phospholipids was studied. A betaine lipid 1(3), 2-diacylglyceryl-(3)-O-4-(N,N,N-trimethyl)-homoserine was detected in the polar lipid fraction of the R. riparioides bryophyte. The characteristics of distribution of lipids and fatty acids are discussed considering species specificity of the freshwater plants and algae.
