摘要

A procedure for mapping and classifying the agro-ecological landscapes of a territory is presented with reference to its application in Opole, Russia. The horizontal and vertical irregularity of the agro-chemical properties of the soils must be taken into account when devising agricultural systems appropriate for particular situations. Fertilizer systems for various crop rotations may range from zero to superintensive, and tillage may be conventional, low-energy, combined-layered, or anti-erosion.Examples are given of fertilizer rates suitable for the various combinations of circumstances. The law of negative binomial distribution and Taylor's rule are recommended for coping with the extreme spatial (horizontal and vertical) heterogeneity of soils as regards nutrient contents. This is illustrated for the distribution of P2O5 in the plough layer.
