Methyl bromide sorption in different apple fruit boxes

Gas sorption and the CT product of methyl bromide were tested for plastic and wooden boxes, with and without apple fruits, fumigated with methyl bromide at 52 g m-3 for 2 hours at 10deg C. The progressive gas concentration in wooden boxes was extremelylow and changed little in plastic boxes. Gas sorptions were about 3 and 823 mg kg-1 for plastic and wooden boxes, respectively. The CT products were 115 and 89 mg h/l for plastic and wooden boxes with apples, respectively. The gas sorption rate in emptydried wooden boxes was smaller than that in empty wetted wooden boxes.
