Effects of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors on glucagon-like peptide-1 in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus: systematic review and meta-analyses of clinical studies

摘要

To systematically evaluate the effects of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors (DPP-4i) on glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: Databases including Cochrane Library, PubMed, Ovid Medline, Embase and Web of Science were searched for randomized controlled trials. The meta-analysis was performed on the extracted data using RevMan5.3. Conclusions: By increasing intact GLP-, DPP-4 inhibitors prolong the activity of GLP-1 to reduce blood glucose.
