摘要

Particle size measurement is one of the most important tools for characterization of materials. The emergence of new technologies in such diverse fields as ceramics and biomedicine has created the need for accurate and reliable means of particle size analysis. Knowledge of particle size distribution is more important in understanding the properties and behavioral patterns of materials. Particle sizing of powders is an important indicator of product performance. Properties such as adsorption, solubility, chemical reactivity and light scattering increases with fineness of the powder. Particle size is related to the surface area which affects reactivity and influences process control of product manufacture.
