摘要

The C 1s and N 1s main lines in the photoelectron spectra of CO, CO2, CH4, C2H2, C2H4, C2H6, N-2, and N2O have been measured with high resolution in the threshold region, revealing in each case the extent of the rich vibrational fine structure. Using a simple line shape analysis which allows for the effect of post-collision interaction, the vibrational energies and approximate lifetimes of the core-excited ions are determined. The relative intensities of the vibrational lines change dramatically with photon energy due to the influence of shape resonances and double excitations. [References: 36]
