INVITRO ANTI- INFLAMMATORY ACTIVITY OF ETHANOLIC EXTRACT OF THE ZORN I A DIPHYLLA PERS

Zornia diphylla Pers. belongs to family Fabaceae, which is commonly known as Nilammari. It is found throughout India. The present paper deals with invitro anti-inflammatory activity of ethanolic extract of the different parts of this plant against the dénaturation of protein. The extract of different concentrations was incubated with egg albumin in controlled experimental conditions and subjected to determination of absorbance for the anti-inflammatory property. Diclofenac sodium was used as the reference drug. The effect of diclofenac sodium was found to be less when compared with the test extract. From the present study it can be concluded that ethanolic extract of the different part of the plant possesses in vitro anti-inflammatory activity against the dénaturation of protein.
