Potentiometric estimation of manganese in ferromanganese

Sodium bismuthate procedure for estimation of manganese in ferromanganese is lengthy time consuming and difficult to control proper low temperature during the work.Vohlard's method is generally used for estimation of manganese in pyrolusite but it involves separation of other metals like iron,chromium etc.with zinc oxide.Potentiometric method for estimation of manganese in ferromanganese is very useful as no separation of other associated metal ions is necessary and most of the metals,present in ferromanganese,do not interfere.The method is at least as accurate as the bismuthate method and requires less time.
