The popularity of soybean meal is associated with its good amino acid profile and high digestibility. As with all plant proteins, there are deficiencies in nutritionally essential amino acids. However, missing amino acids like pure lysine, threonine and others are available in abundance, making soybean meal the most important global protein crop. The objectives of the research done is to review the nutritional value of SBM and full fat SBM(FFSBM) in diets for non-ruminants (pigs and poultry) by examining variations in overall composition and the influence of processing. The article will conclude with sample diet formulations demonstrating the inclusion of SBM and FFSBM. It is not the objective of the study to compare soya products with other plant proteins.
