Baldness or loss of hair of the occipital scalp is mostly hereditary particularly among the males from their maternal family tree and can be accentuated to an earlier age and severity due to stress or emotional distress related exacerbation. This is also generally accompanied by thinning of hair resulting from insufficient supply of growth factor nutrients at the hair follicle roots. The latter thinning of hair and possibly accompanied by partial fall of hair is more common and restricted to only that much extent for females.
