摘要

To assess the capability of Kyoto University Research Reactor to supply the domestic needs of medical isotopes, its neutron flux has been fully characterized. The production rates of theranostics radionuclides Lu-177 (from Lu-176 (n, gamma) Lu-177), Lu-176 (n, gamma) Lu-177m/Lu-177 and Yb-176 (n, gamma) 177Yb & x27f6;beta-(1.88hr)177Lu , and Sc-47 (from Ca-46 (n, gamma) 47Ca & x27f6;beta-(4.54d)47Sc and Ti (n, p) Sc-47) were evaluated. The activity (per gram of target) of Sc-47 produced from Ti was found to be 10 times higher than that produced from Ca. Production of Lu-177 from the decay of its isomer Lu-177m was found to be produce less radioactive wastes than Yb route and can be used as a generator for long-time use.
