摘要

The potassium supplying power of soils was assessed through multiple cropping by growing maize,wheat and guinea grass in pot culture.The content of available K declined rapidly with the growing of crops.The contribution of non-exchangeable K to total K uptake was to the tune of 93.1 per cent.The results indicated that non-exchangeable K was the major contributing form of K to total K uptake by the crops,which signified that non-exchangeable potassium in soils can be used to predict and ascertain the long term K supplying power of soils when levels of available K drops below a certain minimum level.
