About 70 experiments were carried out in the farmer's field during 1997-2000 in Monsoon and summer season with control(NP)and K_2O(40,80 and 120 Kg ha~(-1))treatments.In terms of absolute treatment effect(70 trials),the pod yield increased to the tune of 17 per cent under 80 kg K_2O ha~(-1)treatment by 15 per cent under 120 kg K_2O ha~! treatment in monsoon,while in summer,the pod yield increased to the tune of 24 per cent under 80 kg K_2O ha~(-1)treatment.In Monsoon,R~2 was about 93 per cent and maxima achieved at 120 kg K_2O ha~(-1)treatment for pod yield.Where as in summer R~2 for pod yield was 82 per cent and maxima was achieved at 80 kg K_2O ha~(-1)treatment.The response rate in terms of yield of low and high productive soils was higher than medium productive soils.The pod yield increased to the tune of 23,12 and 21 per cent under 80 kg K_2O ha~(-1)treatment in low,medium and high productive soils,respectively.The R~2 for pod yield was 95,75 and 95 per cent for low,medium and high productive soils respectively,with maxima at 80 kg K_2O ha~(-1)treatment,In medium available K soils,pod yield increased up to 17 per cent under 80 kg K_2O ha~(-1)treatment,where as in high available K soils,pod yield increased by 18 per cent due to 80 kg K_2O ha~(-1)treatment.The R~2 for pod yield under medium available K soils was 89 per cent,with maxima at 80 kg K_2O ha~(-1)treatment.In case of high available K soils,the R~2 was 93 per cent for pod yield with maxima at 80 kg K_2O ha~(-1)treatment.
