摘要

Three experiments at cultivator's field were conducted to evaluate the response of pea (Pisum sativum L.)to potassium in two districts of Punjab.Two of the experiments were conducted in Nawanshehar district and the other one at Krishi Vigyan Kender,Bahowal farm in Hoshiarpur district.The soils were medium (112-252 kg K ha~(-1))in potassium.Results showed good yield response to potassium application of peas,which were upto 29% and 24% increase in yield over recommended nitrogen and phosphorus treatment,by the application of 50 kg K ha~(-1)at Barwa and Bahowal sites respectively.An increase of 11 per cent in yield at Sadhra site with application of 25 kg K ha~(-1)over control was observed.Potassium application influenced favourably all the yield parameters viz.number of pods per 100 plants,weight of 100 pods (g),number of grains per 100 pods,weight of 200 grains (g)and length of pods (cm).Potassium application upto 50 kg K ha~(-1)increased nitrogen as well as potassium content and uptake by pea crop.At higher doses (75 kg K ha~(-1))of potassium,nitrogen content in plants decreased.
