On the photo‐activation of the S 00 ?→?S 11 transition in polyenes

Abstract > The evidence provided in this work allows us to conclude that the electronic transition S <sub>0</sub> ?→?S <sub>1</sub> either for the diphenylhexatriene molecule or for the diphenyloctatetraene molecule is dipole allowed and induced by one‐photon absorption.
