摘要

In my target article "An Ethical Analysis of Mandatory Influenza Vaccination of Health Care Personnel" (Antommaria 2013), I argued that public health ethics is the most appropriate framework for analyzing this issue. This framework emphasizes the importance of identifying goals, minimizing burdens, and implementing fairly. I argued that while mandatory vaccination programs are justified, they should be applied consistently and should permit some nonmedical exemptions. I greatly appreciate all of the commentators' time and effort to consider my arguments and their contributions to the discussion. Three commentaries raised particularly important issues to which I would like to respond.
