Asymptotics of Orthogonal Polynomials: Some Old, Some New, Some Identities

We briefly review some asymptotics of orthonormal polynomials. Then we derive the Bernstein-Szego, the Riemann-Hilbert (or Fokas-Its-Kitaev), and Rakhmanov projection identities for orthogonal polynomials and attempt a comparison of their applications is asymptotics.
