Chosen reproductive indices of sows given the stimulator 'Panstimase'

The influence of the feed additive 'Panstimase' on reproductive performance was examined. Investigations were carried out on 30 multiparous sows divided into experimental and control groups (n=15 each) selected at random. Starting from the time of weaning and continuing for the whole period between 2 successive parturitions, experimental sows were fed with a complete feed containing 125 g of 'Panstimase' per 1000 kg feed. Control animals did not receive the additive and were reared under identicalenvironmental conditions. Mating the sows of both groups was done with the same boars for which the required resting periods were maintained. Percentage of fertilities resulting from the first mating, number of piglets in the litters, number of sows entering the next reproductive cycle, average body weight of piglets on 42nd day of life and number of dead piglets were noted. The results showed that 'Panstimase' reduced the percentage of dead piglets and positively influence litter size.
