Golar LNG and Quantum Pacific have won the contract for the US $500m floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) to import LNG for Ghana's state-run Volta River Authority while Technip is in talks to provide other infrastructure. The vessel, will be situated off the eastern port city of Tema, and will be operational by mid-2016 according to Don Ackah, Chief Executive of Quantum Power Ghana Gas. a subsidiary of the company owned by Israeli billionaire Idan Ofer.
