South Africa's state oil company PetroSA has been pushed into further turmoil and has asked three top executives to take special leave pending an investigation into their performance. The leadership uncertainty follows poor performance at PetroSA with problems including delays and cost overruns at its upstream Project Ikh-wezi. This was designed to bring in extra gas reserves to extend the life of the GTL plant at Mossel Bay via live new high-pressure high-temperature wells at the F-O field.
