Noble spuds final well before E Guinea sanction

Noble Energy has spudded the final well on its latest project off Equatorial Guinea which it is hoping to sanction later this year. The Carla South well in Block I is being drilled by the Atwood Hunter semisub which has just completed flow testing the Carla North discovery in neighbouring Block O. No well had originally been expected on Carla South before sanction but Noble became more cautious following drilling last year which uncovered an extra oil reservoir but also, crucially, some reservoir separation.
