DR Congo plans five block round

Democratic Republic of Congo plans to launch a mini licensing round for five blocks in its western coastal basin as it seeks to boost investment in the sector and take advantage of interest in the current Angolan onshore round. Oil minister Crispin Atama Tabe said that opportunities would become available for the Nganzi, Mavuma, Nduna, Yema and Matamba-Makanzi blocks. The areas are located near the mouth of the River Congo and the border region with Angola's oil-rich Cabinda enclave. Nganzi was recently handed back by SOCO International while Surestream held the Yema and Matamba-Makanzi blocks.
