Poser Shell Auction in Boston

On the remarkably pleasant and snow-free Sunday afternoon of 28 February 2016, Boston area conchologists attended the "event of the decade." Members of the Boston Malacological Club were invited to participate in the auction of the late Dr. Charles M. Poser's seashell collection. The auction took place in Dr. Poser's home, an old "brown-stone" in South Boston, in the shadow of Boston's Prudential Tower, a prestigious neighborhood, new to all who attended. Designed when horses and carriages existed, parking was at a premium along Rutland Square, South Boston.
