Erin planning Nigerian drilling double and negotiating Ghana terms

Erin Energy is still hoping to drill two wells offshore Nigeria later this year while also trying to renegotiate terms to make reserves off Ghana commercial. The US independent is operator of OMLs 120 and 121 off Nigeria, including the producing Oyo field, and had hoped to drill three wells early this year. However these plans were disrupted by problems with one of its current producing wells on the field after it was temporarily shut-in. The well's controlled sub-surface safety valve failed. Island Offshore's Island Constructor light well intervention vessel has now left Norway to help and production is expected to resume in April.
