SCREENING OF CERTAIN GREENGRAM [VIGNA RADIATA (L.)WILCZEK] GENOTYPES FOR RESISTANCE AGAINST POD BUGS AND SPOTTED PODBORER

摘要

The twenty genotypes viz; Pant M4, ML 2410, VGG15-030, KM 2349, ML 818, Pusa 1671, Pusa 1672, Pant M6, PM11-26, SML1811, COGG 912, RMG1092, PM11-25, AKM12-24, IGKM 06.26.5, RMG1087, VGG 10-008, IGKM 05-18-2, AKM12-14, and HUM-12 were raised under unprotected condition for studying the population build up of major insect pests and damage assessment in relation to per cent damage by pod bug and spotted pod borer. The genotype SML 1811 was found most susceptible to pod bugs with maximum mean population(2.59 bugs/3 plants). The genotype ML 818 was found most tolerant to pod bug with minimum mean population (1.92 bugs/3 plants). The genotype Pusa 1671 was found most susceptible to spotted pod borer, with maximum mean population (2.84 larvae/3 plants). The genotype Pant M6 was found most tolerant to spotted pod borer with minimum mean population (1.79 larvae/3 plants). The genotype HUM 12 (9.34%) showed least pod damage against pod bugs. The maximum pod damage was recorded in genotype Pant M4 (21.34%) by pod bugs. The genotype RMG 1092 (734%) showed highest pod damage caused by pod borer. The maximum pod damage was recorded in genotype ML2410 (16.00%) by pod borer. The maximum grain yield was obtained genotype VGG 10-008 (7.67 q/ha). Whereas, lowest grain yield was obtained genotype COGG 912 (2.67 q/ha).
