Sonangol prequalifies 62 for onshore round

Sonangol will shortly publish the names of 62 companies that have prequalified for Angola's delayed onshore licensing round. Originally the shortlist of prequalified companies for the 10-block round in the Kwanza and Congo Basins was due to be announced last April with a shortlist in May and awards by the end of the year. The drop in oil price and lack of drilling success in the offshore Kwanza delayed this, and Sonangol said earlier this week that the 62 names will now be revealed later this quarter.
