Hercules Offshore said it has been hit by a slowdown in work in Nigeria but expects activity to pick up in the second half of next year. "Activity levels in West Africa saw sharp reductions starting in June. Driven by budgetary constraints from some of the large customers in Nigeria. As of this morning we're running 10 liftboats in Nigeria, however consistent levels of demand have remained elusive this year and we anticipate a weak operating environment through mid-2015 until Presidential elections are held and we then allow some time for operating conditions with NNPC, the national oil company in Nigeria to return to normal," said company President John Rynd.
