Golar accelerates for second speculative FLNG conversion

Golar LNG is expected to sign a contract for a second speculative floating LNG vessel with Keppel Shipyard next month while it is still trying to negotiate a contract with a gas operator for the first. The company hoped to get a head start on its FLNG competition in its partnership with Keppel and Black and Veatch by agreeing to build a speculative four train unit in the middle of this year that will be ready in early 2017.
