Sasol to hand back Mozambique gas double

Sasol looks set to hand back a pair of blocks off Mozambique which contain a gas find which currently appears uncommercial. Back in 2008 the company was extremely positive after a gas find with the Njika-1 well in Blocks 16/19 towards the less successful south of the country and it drilled an appraisal well a year after. The company said that: "Two exploration wells were successfully drilled in the period October 2008 to January 2009. Both wells were found to be gas-bearing. However, due to technical complexity a significant amount of follow up work will be required to assess the commerciality of the discoveries."
