Chemical Composition of Essential Oil from Aerial Parts of Phlomis tuberosa L. Growing Wild in Northern Kazakhstan

摘要

Phlomis L. is a large genus in the Lamiaceae family and contains over 100 species. In Kazakhstan the genus Phlomis includes 13 species; one of them is Phlomis tuberosa L. The aim of the study was to investigate the chemical composition of the essential oil from P. tuberosa L. growing wild in Northern Kazakhstan. The essential oils of aerial parts from P tuberosa L. collected from four sites of Northern Kazakhstan were obtained and analyzed by GC-MS to determine its composition. The main identified compounds were valerianol (3.9-13.5 %), beta-eudesmol (2.9-11.2 %), phytol (5.5-9.7 %), hexahydrofarnesyl acetone (3.6-5.7 %), linalool (2.7-5.5 %), n-hexadecanoic acid (2.3-5.2 %), 1-octen-3-ol (3.5-5.1 %), beta-caryophyllene (3.3-4.9 %), depending on the growth conditions. The valerianol was identified for the first time in essential oil of P tuberosa L. and for genus of Phlomis. Components of phytol, linalool, hexahydrofarnesyl acetone and n-hexadecanoic acid are common for the species P. tuberosa L.
