Tower places bet on Namibian offshore

Tower Resources is negotiating for "substantial" new operated acreage offshore Namibia despite last year's uninspiring exploration programme in which it was involved. The company was a minority partner in last year's Welwits-chia well in Repsol's deepwater PEL10 which was halted early after cost overruns and which failed to encounter hydrocarbons. Five other costly deepwater wells were also drilled off Namibia by Petrobras, Chariot and HRT without any commercial discovery.
