Bowleven's testing of its appraisal well off Cameroon has come in better than pre-drill expectations. The shallow water IM-5 well was drilled on the MLHP-7 block using the Atwood Aurora jackup. It encountered hydrocarbons in all three target reservoirs and the mean unrisked in-place volumes have already been lifted to 1.2 Tcf, compared to expectations of 466 Bcf before drilling.
