Total prepares for controversial DRC drill

Total may drill in controversial acreage in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FRC) neighbouring Uganda next year. The French firm is operator of Block III in the far east of the DRC just south of Lake Albert and near the successful blocks held by Tullow, Total and CNOOC in Uganda. The acquisition of 244km of new 2D seismic was completed in June and is in the process of being interpreted and integrated with previously acquired gravity and magnetic information.
