BP adds to Moroccan excitement ahead of 10-well surge

BP has added to the ever-increasing excitement around Morocco by farming into three blocks operated by Kosmos, as the first in a 10-well drilling frenzy off the country is set to begin. The UK major will take up to 45% in the Essaouira Offshore, Foum Assaka Offshore and Tarhazoute Offshore blocks in the Agadir Basin, although Kosmos will retain operatorship. BP will fund Kosmos' share of the cost of one exploration well in each of the blocks and pay a disproportionate share of the cost of a second well.
