Mitsubishi Corp has farmed into Anadarko's acreage off Cote d'lvoire where an appraisal well on an existing deepwater discovery will be drilled shortly. The Japanese firm has made its first move into the country by taking 20% in CI-103 which contains the 2012 Paon (Au-truche) discovery. Although an appraisal well drilled earlier this year had disappointing results a Mitsubishi spokesman said the company hoped for first oil from Paon in 2019 with peak production of 60,000 b/d.
