Brugada sign in a patient with hyperkalemia due to rhabdomyolysis in hypothermia

The Brugada sign may appear as an indication of severe hyperkalemia. This phenomena has recently been called as the "Brugada phenocopy". Hyperthermia and hypothermia may lead to rhabdomyolysis: Rhabdomyolysis is a syndrome characterized by muscle necrosis and the release of intracellular muscle constituents into the circulation. We present a case where rhabdomyolysisrelated delayed hyperkalemia showed Brugada sign on the ECG mimicking ventricular tachycardia. (C) 2016 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
