AimsTo screen 20 micro-organisms for -transaminase (-TA) activity by the kinetic resolution of rac-1-phenylethylamine, followed by testing rac-amines of pharmaceutical interest with bulky substituents and to conduct the asymmetric synthesis of a chiral amine.
